"Houses on the Hill"
This is a theme I keep going back to - houses that blend in with their surroundings somehow draw me to them. I am not fully sure what exactly it is that speaks to me. It is almost an involuntary reaction, something that is triggered in the subconscious part of my brain. Maybe I imagine the absolute converse of these images – a solitary natural element overwhelmed and surrounded by brick and concrete structures. Maybe I am drawn to these scenes because of a subconscious recognition of what the natural balance of things ought to be.
